Board Meeting Minutes – September 19, 2006
The Board of Directors of the Southern Fulton School
District met for their regular board meeting at
Allen Morton, Donald Whiteside, Edgar Yates, Kenny
Wuertenberg, Patrick Bard, and Dwight Bard.
Also present were Ralph R. Scott, superintendent;
Brett Gilliland, high school principal; Kendra Trail, elementary principal;
Michael Shaw, facilities manager; LuAnne Keebaugh, business manager; Doug
Leisher, technology specialist; Patrick Fanelli, solicitor; and Betty Feagley,
board secretary.
Visitors present were: Chanin Rotz Mountz from the Fulton County
News, Glenn Ward, Andrew Pepple, Michael Johnson, Heather Kauffman, Bethany
Bickle, Deneen Fogal, and Jaime Barnard.
1. The meeting was opened with prayer by Mr.
Dwight Bard and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mr. Dwight Bard.
2. Citizens Participation. There several six employees who came and
introduced themselves to the board.
3. A motion was made by Mr.
Allen Morton and seconded by Mr. Edgar Yates to approve the minutes of the
August 15, 2006, Board Meeting.

4. Communications. There were two letters: a letter of resignation from DeAnn Hawkins as
physical therapist and a letter from Myers Implements thanking us for our
business.
5. The Activities RFP’s were
opened. There was one Activities RFP
from Eugene Ward for boys’ junior high, junior varsity and varsity
basketball. Since the RFP did not meet the
advertised requirements. The board did
not act upon it. The district will
readvertise the activity run and consider purchasing a bus.
6. A motion was made by Mr.
Allen Morton and seconded by Mr. Kenny Wuertenberg to advertise for bus drivers
fro potential activities bus.

7. There will be a presentation
of AYP/PSSA information by principals when information is available.
8. A motion was made by Mr. Donald
Whiteside to approve Mike Shade as Head Teacher for the elementary school at a
budgeted stipend of $1,000.00.

9. A motion was made by Mr.
Allen Morton and seconded by Mr. Patrick Bard to accept with regret the letter
of resignation from DeAnn Hawkins as part-time physical therapist and to
approve Barbara MacDonald as physical therapist at a rate of $75.00 an hour.

10. A motion was made by Mr. Allen
Morton and seconded by Mr. Donald Whiteside to approve the following volunteers
for the elementary basketball program pending completion of paperwork:

School on September 28 – 29, 2006 in

13. A motion was made by Mr. Donald Whiteside and

English As a Second Language Program.

14. A motion was made by Mr.
Allen Morton and seconded by Mr. Patrick Bard to approve the Southern Fulton
Athletic Association to use the high school cafeteria on November 11, 2006 from
3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for their annual sportsman raffle as per board policy.

and roof repairs by Heidler Roofing at the high school in the amount of
$2,282.00.

20. A motion was made by Mr. Donald

Patrick Bard and seconded by Mr. Donald Whiteside to adjourn the meeting. VOICE VOTE, All in Favor. Motion carried.
